Central Park
Miraculous
It's a nice enough Sunday afternoon in the summer. I have somewhere to be on the Upper East Side, too far given the time for me to walk all the way from my uppermost West Side home. So I take a subway down to 72nd Street and then walk across.
Is there an event of some sort? The number of people out on the lawn called Sheep Meadow suggests an imminent concert or something like that. But apparently not. The photos don't capture the quantity accurately, but I would venture that around a thousand people independently decided to bring a blanket or a frisbee or a picnic or some friends or all of the above and enjoy the day. Tall buildings, spectacular and looming, people living large on their own and together.
This kind of scene feels like a miracle to me. Just two photos, but I wanted to share.
Have a good day.

Sitting among the forests and mountains of the Catskills, it's hard to believe that pictures of Central Park actually look inviting to me. I think I admire the City the most when I view it from a distance.
Love the pictures of Central Park at this time of the year.
